Record Award Against City of New Orleans For Police Harassment
Glenn C. McGovern earned for his client a record award against the City of New Orleans for an incident arising out of a 20-minute traffic stop. The minority OBGYN doctor was a victim of harassment by a negligently trained police officer, who also was negligent in his failure to monitor the arrested doctor when in police custody and conducted improper handcuffing. The award was upheld by the LA Supreme Court.
Settlement For Injuries Occurring During Arrest
Glenn C. McGovern obtained a settlement for a doctor who was arrested in a parking lot of a retailer and improperly handcuffed, resulting in hand injuries to the surgeon.
Large Settlement for Injuries To A Child Caused By Defective Toy
Glenn C. McGovern obtained a settlement for a child who sustained a major eye injury due to a defective toy airplane purchased from a street vendor. The toy manufacturer in China and distributor in California was located. The toy was not approved, failing to meet U.S. safety standards and was taken off the market so others would not be injured.
Class Action Judgment For Toxic Chemicals
As a trial attorney in a creosote toxic tort case, a judgment was obtained for 66 plaintiffs who were exposed to the sudden and accidental discharges of creosote from an industrial plant that made creosote wood products. Bad faith claims against the insurers are pending.

Record Settlement In Racial Discrimination Case
Glenn C. McGovern as a trial attorney obtained a record structure settlement award in a racial discrimination case involving an African-American employee who suffered three nervous breakdowns due to the outrageous conduct of employees due to a defective human resources department that took no action.
Large Personal Injury Judgment For Building Defects
Glenn C. McGovern, as a trial attorney, obtained a judgment jointly against a high-rise building owner whose office building had unleveled floors; as well as Steelcase for a defective office chair and for failure to warn of dangerous rollers that resulted in multiple herniated discs in the neck of a defense firm paralegal.
